Twin Township Ambulance is hiring full-time and part-time EMTs at our New Lothrop, Michigan location, a 12-hour truck running mostly 911 calls. Starting pay $17.25 to $18.67 per hour, topping out at $21.65, plus per-call bonuses and performance stipends. Requires a valid State of Michigan EMT or Paramedic license and a valid driver’s license.
Twin Township Ambulance is seeking dedicated EMTs to join our team at our New Lothrop, Michigan location. This unit primarily responds to 911 emergency calls (about 80 percent) with occasional inter-facility transfers (about 20 percent), and runs as a 12-hour truck. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
Pay and bonuses
- Starting pay $17.25 to $18.67 per hour, topping out at $21.65 per hour.
- Call bonuses: $5 per 911 call and $3 per transfer.
- Performance stipends: $50 for 5 calls in a shift, and $100 for 8 calls in a shift.
Shifts
- 12-hour shifts (Genesee).
- 24-hour shifts on other units, available on a Kelly rotation.
- Day, night, and overnight availability preferred.

Duties and responsibilities
- Always displays a courteous and professional attitude while at work.
- Maintains a neat, clean, and professional appearance as established in the company dress code.
- Responds to all emergency calls as assigned by the dispatcher, according to company standards and in a safe manner.
- Performs under stressful and sometimes highly emotional situations.
- Maintains personal and scene safety, including awareness of infectious-disease precautions, hazardous-materials response, driver safety, back safety, and all other safety-related issues.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of all basic equipment.
- Performs maintenance of stations and equipment, including washing, mopping, dusting, and other related cleaning chores.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Twin Township Ambulance geographical service area.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Saginaw, Shiawassee, and Genesee County MCA protocols.
- Completes all required daily rig checks, the station-duties checklist, and reports.
- Works as a team with their partner, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas.
- Attends and participates in all mandatory staff meetings and trainings held within the company unless excused by the Operations Manager.
- Maintains patient confidentiality by following HIPAA laws.
- Participates in continuing-education programs mandated by MDHHS to maintain a current license.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager, Assistant Operations Manager, Supervisors, and/or Field Training Officers.
Physical demands and working conditions
- Responds to all emergency calls upon dispatch and faces difficult decisions during emergency situations.
- Spends extensive time outside, exposed to different weather conditions.
- Risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials.
- Works for long periods requiring sustained physical activity and intense concentration.
- Relies on sight, hearing, smell, and touch to determine the nature of an emergency while maintaining personal safety.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Must frequently move up to 50 pounds alone and 150 pounds with assistance.
- Required to talk and hear.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must safely drive in all weather conditions, including rain and snow.
This position involves routine and frequent exposure to hazards that may include bright or dim light, dust, pollen, extreme heat or cold, humid or wet conditions, extreme noise, animals and wildlife, vibrations, fumes or noxious odors, traffic, moving machinery, electrical shock, heights, and bodily fluids. Employees receive training on respiratory protection, bloodborne pathogens, and hazmat awareness.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid State of Michigan EMT or Paramedic license.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Acceptable driving record as defined by Twin Township Ambulance’s insurance carrier.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) card (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Pediatric and Trauma certification as defined by Medical Control (within 6 months).
- No felony convictions.
- Availability for day, night, and overnight shifts preferred.
